ORIGINAL TECHNIQUE USING SILK CANVAS.
A NEW MEANS OF EXPRESSION IS BORN:
LIKE OIL, GOUACHE, WATER-COLOUR AND MANY OTHER
ART TECHNIQUES, HERE ARE NOW THE "SILKS" ©

The originality of
these paintings comes from the use of a silk canvas instead of a cotton canvas.
This fabric captures colours and gives them a lustrous sheen and a very special
brilliance: the paintings seem to have their own life, the colours vibrate
and are never static. The smallest light source brings them to life. They
look translucent as if there was a light source behind... And there is none!
To elaborate this personal technique and to make sure the colours would not
fade, I had to adapt industrial techniques to my needs. This was a long process
of research and experimentation, with numerous failures and successes... Finally
I was able to manage and domesticate these colours and turn them into my own
technique. Their fastness and stability is now guaranteed by a more than 40
years experience.
Colours saturate the silk and become an integral part of the fabric. Each
brush stroke, in colour or in wax, is permanent: nothing can be changed or
corrected, if the result is not satisfying, I have to start all over again!
This preserves the spontaneity of the gesture, which is essential. Thus, every
piece is unique. The silk is then stretched on a special white board and framed.

My technique explained by Arnold Kohler:
"Her
works seduced at once and retained the attention... as well by a certain poetic
quality as by the originality of a technique also in direct relation with
the style, and even the inspiration of the artist. In the paintings that Prisca
names her "soies" ©, the textile support receiving the colour is indeed fundamental..."
